Life has been nothing short of a whirlwind lately if even that's a word to explain it. With a new month comes taking time to refocus and hit the refresh button and find my balance again. As I sit here sipping on an iced green tea on a hot summer day, listening to the soft sound of David Gray's voice, and watching the sweet old couple sitting across from me in a coffee shop sharing a piece of pie, I can't help but to be inspired by the world around me.

When I first started Forever Mere, I wanted to share my love for styling and fashion with the world. But as time has gone on, I genuinely feel like I have lost touch with why I started blogging. I still love style and fashion, but it doesn't seem like the sole purpose of my blog anymore. Feeling like this has led me to a "blogging rut" and too close to hitting the delete button way too many times.

But within the past year something kept tugging at my heart telling me that it went far deeper than just my love for style and coffee. It went far deeper than just the surface of who I am. That is when it all clicked, and the purpose of Forever Mere became very clear to me.

Forever Mere is a place where social media is being used for good. A safe and inspiring place for individuals to unite and empower each other. I am so sick of a world that always tells you to compare yourself and your life to others to establish your successes. I am over people feeling like "likes" or "followers" determines their worth. I am over social media being used as a platform for everyone to show only the positives in their lives but never the negatives. Now, I am not saying let's open up the diary and make it explode for all to read. No, not at all. But can we all get real here?

Life is freaking hard. Like really freaking hard, but wouldn't it be much easier if sometimes you felt like just one other person in the world had walked in your shoes. From a newly college grad lost in the clouds to an individual who has been miserable in the corporate world. Through sharing our experiences, I feel like we can empower each other just a little bit and at the end of the day knowing that maybe you made a slight impact on someone's life can let you rest easy at night.

With this, things are in the works. I am taking my time making sure I get this just right. So please hang in there with me, because the best is yet to come.

ps. I will still be sharing all things fashion, I promise you that is not going anywhere. I'm just making this a little less about me and a little more about us. stay tuned.
