Kansas City Fashion Week Recap

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Kansas City Fashion Week. First off, let me say that I love that the Midwest is growing in the creative field. It is so exciting and inspiring for all of us creative individuals.

Not only was KCFW held at a beautiful venue, The Grand Hall of Power and Light District, it also had some incredible designs. Eight designers showed off their gorg collections, their hours of hard work had paid off with a beautiful show.

One of my favorite collections was by Barbara Bultman who inspired the crowd with the power of self-love messages written on the model's hands. Her designs were intricate and dimensional. My other favorite was Amanda Casarez's. I love this powerful and detailed trouser and blazer, a great twist on a classic look.

For my look I kept simple and classic, wearing black head to toe. I added a casual touch by layering my leather jacket over my shoulders in case it was cold in the venue. Together this look was easy and effortless, and all pieces that I will wear again or that I already had - love that!

If you live in the Midwest area, I definitely recommend going to Kansas City Fashion Week next year! It is a great experience, and Connor even enjoyed it too. So gals, bring you fellas with you for a date night.

Thanks again, KCFW for having me, I will be back!
